STV Children's Appeal

Leading up to the Galloway Hills Rally, Caroline has re-liveried the Fiesta to proudly support the STV Children's Appeal.

There will be a team of helpers out and about around the event armed with collection buckets trying to raise as much as they can for this very worthwhile cause.

This is the final round of the 2019 Scottish Rally Championship, so Caroline and Charley are aiming for a strong finish as well as bucket loads of donations.

Dunoon Presents Argyll Stages Rally

Caroline reckons she got a rallying masterclass from the current British Champion, Matt Edwards.

Matt took his place in the navigator's seat when Caroline's regular co-driver had to pull out. Reading the notes, Matt helped the new pairing to 3rd in class and 33rd overall. This means she is now lying 2nd in class in the Scottish Rally Championship, with two rounds still to run.

She said: "It was a great day. Matt's coaching and feedback was really beneficial. I have some pointers to work on for the rest of the season."

McRae Gravel Challenge

Following an accident on The Speyside Stages in April this year, Caroline’s campaign on The Scottish Championship was curtailed as she sustained a broken wrist in the incident. After several weeks in plaster and a few more in a wrist brace she is hoping to get back behind the wheel before the end of the season.

In the meantime, former Vauxhall and Audi factory driver Andrew Wood will be flying the Complete Cleaning flag on the forthcoming McRae Gravel Challenge on the 23rd September. This event is to commemorate the late former World Champion Colin McRae who died tragically 10 years ago in a helicopter accident. Andrew was one of the Britain's top professional rally drivers in the past, and will be putting the Complete Cleaning Subaru through its paces (navigated by Caroline) through 30 miles of forestry tracks in Perthshire.

Ignition Festival

The Complete Cleaning Subaru was on full display at the recent Ignition Festival at the SEC Glasgow. The event featured 5 former rally World Champions - Ari Vatanen, Stig Blomqvist, Timo Salonen, Marku Alen and Miki Biasion, alongside Scotland’s very own 5 times British Champion Jimmy McRae.

The car was featured on the Scottish Motor Sports stand and Caroline was on hand to talk to the enthusiastic crowd about the car and her career. A great weekend interspersed with a few downpours that didn’t keep the crowds away.

Motorsport is one of the largest industries in the world with thousands of businesses, global brands and corporations investing in the sport. Rallying in particular is making a comeback, with BT Sport attaining the viewing rights to WRC and BRC events this year. In the SRC,  each event regularly draws up to 15000 spectators, including press coverage, with programmes of the championship shown on the BBC and Motors TV.
